The APC claims Atiku is inciting citizens against President Tinubu. Discover the full details of this political development.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of persistently misleading Nigerians, stirring public anger and encouraging street protests against the government’s reform policy plan.
This comes as the party alleged that Atiku has been uneasy since his defeat in the 2023 elections.
Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of APC, stated this.
This statement follows former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s remarks that many Nigerians have been reaching out to him with questions about how to address the country’s present issues.
Atiku suggested that President Bola Tinubu’s administration should be open to adopting his ideas in order to address the country’s challenges for the benefit of the Nigerian people.
However, the APC criticized Atiku’s policy proposals as a disappointing repetition of outdated and failed strategies that have previously weakened Nigeria.
According to the party, Atiku’s policy significantly neglected to address complex contradictions, past errors, and the critical urgency of the current situation.
Following his electoral defeat in 2023, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has been unsettled.
Atiku’s policy proposal was a disheartening repetition of the same ineffective strategies that initially led to our country’s struggles during the PDP’s extended governance.
Atiku’s policy proposal significantly overlooked the complex contradictions, previous errors, and pressing urgency of the current situation.
His gradual approach to subsidy removal and foreign exchange reforms has been tried in the past, but it failed to yield significant results. In particular, his favored managed-floating system disproportionately benefits opportunists and cronies who exploit the system for personal gain, to the severe disadvantage of the Nigerian people.
However, Atiku has persisted in misleading Nigerians by stirring up outrage and encouraging street protests against the administration’s reform policy. This plan aims to rebuild the country’s economy, which he played a role in undermining during his tenure as Vice President for two terms under PDP’s inefficient leadership.
President Tinubu is dedicated to enacting bold, progressive, and impactful policies that tackle Nigeria’s complex challenges at their foundations. Although challenging, his reform agenda is essential for constructing a robust, resilient, dynamic, prosperous, and sustainable economy for current and future generations of Nigerians.
The statement emphasized that Atiku’s constant and indiscriminate criticism of the administration’s policies for personal political gain exemplifies extreme hypocrisy. It stated that Nigerians expect greater statesmanship from a former Vice President of the Federal Republic.
