The APC hits back at Governor Makinde, urging him to take responsibility for governance challenges instead of attributing them to external parties.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has addressed an accusation made by the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.
According to OBASANJONEWS, during an event in Ibadan, the state capital, Makinde criticized the ruling APC for causing disorder within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other opposition parties in Nigeria.
In response, the APC called on the PDP to acknowledge its own failures and refrain from blaming them for the crisis within their opposition party.
In a statement released on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC encouraged the opposition party to engage in self-reflection and resolve its issues.
The statement suggested that Makinde should concentrate on his main responsibility of delivering effective governance to the citizens of Oyo State.
Morka cautioned Makinde against pointing fingers at the APC for the problems within his own party.
“They ought to fully accept responsibility for their shameful failure in managing the party’s collapse and deterioration,” the statement continued.
Reports indicate that Makinde, who is about to complete his second term in office, is aspiring to run in the presidential election of 2027.
