A Zamfara PDP chieftain speaks out against the APC’s recent lawsuit targeting the state government, calling it a divisive political move.
Aminu Usman, a leader within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State, expressed concern that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was hindering democratic progress by taking legal action against the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC).
Speaking to journalists in Gusau, Usman stated that the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria grants each state government the authority to establish its own Independent Electoral Commission.
He stated that ZASIEC has complied with the constitutional requirements, and therefore, the APC lacks any moral grounds to appeal to a court.
“We’re monitoring the outcome of the case, but I believe that APC does not have good intentions for the State’s progress.”
“We urge the devoted supporters of APC to reconsider, as their leaders are guiding them without clear vision.”
He urged APC supporters in the state to consider their actions carefully.
