The Vice-chairman of the Senate Committee on Communications, Trade and Investment, Distinguished Senator Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central Senatorial District, has commenced the rehabilitation of the Otan-Ayegbaju road along Isale Obala/Oke Omi bridge. This project aligns with Senator Fadeyiβs commitment to infrastructural development and addressing the needs of his people.
This road, which has served the Otan-Ayegbaju township since its construction in 1979, was severely impacted by recent flooding, leaving it impassable and disrupting transportation and daily activities for residents and businesses alike.
In response to the pleas of his constituents, Senator Fadeyi, known as the βWorking and Uncommon Senator,β has prioritised this road rehabilitation to restore access, enhance safety and stimulate economic activities in the area. While the project could be placed under ecological or intervention funds and potentially executed within a year, Senator Fadeyi chose to fund it as a personal support project for Otan-Ayegbaju as a show of gratitude for their overwhelming support in last year’s senatorial election.
“We recognise the profound impact this bridge and road rehabilitation will have on the lives of the people in Otan-Ayegbaju. Rebuilding this infrastructure demonstrates our dedication to improving the well-being and prosperity of our senatorial district,β Senator Fadeyi remarked.
The project has commenced with a focus on ensuring minimal disruption to residents and swift restoration of full access.
