The 76 #EndBadGovernance protesters, currently in detention, have arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja for their scheduled arraignment before Justice Obiora Egwuatu.
Many of the protesters, primarily minors, appeared malnourished, with four individuals quickly taken out of the courtroom as they struggled to stand. They showed signs of severe distress and discomfort.
These individuals were arrested during nationwide protests from August 1 to 10, which were fueled by widespread economic hardship that prompted many Nigerians to voice their grievances.
The arrested protesters hail from various states, including Abuja, Kaduna, Gombe, Jos, Katsina, and Kano, and face charges of treason among other offenses. Some of the detainees are Nura Ibrahim, 24; Abdulbasi Abdusalami, 34; Ahmed Yusuf, 25; Awolu Abdulahi, 21; Umar Musa, 15; and Muhammadu Mustapha, 16.
