There is a video of this 77-year-old woman going around. It was gathered that she traveled to the UK ten years ago to look after her niece’s children and she has been left stranded there.
The woman said for 10 years, she lived in the UK helping a relative who is a nurse to look after her home. She said the nurse paid her nothing and she now sleeps in the streets and begs for food from strangers.
According to a series of videos shared by @rollybear.london who found the woman on the street begging for food, the woman said she worked for her niece for 10 years, helping raise three children. She said her niece never paid her salary for the nanny job and that she was mistreated as she now lives in the streets. The woman said she is now 77 years old with no food or shelter in the UK as her niece has abandoned her and left her empty-handed.
From the story, it sounds like the woman doesn’t have her own biological children, hence relying on the niece for her upkeep which made the niece take her to the UK to be a nanny. Notwithstanding, the niece should have left her in Nigeria and supported her with whatever she could afford instead of letting her be in the UK homeless at this age and begging for food. Letting her out of the house in such an environment is not the right thing, she should have settled her and sent her back home if she no longer needed her service..
The guy who saw the woman on the street called a meeting but the niece didn’t show up, but sent her friends to talk on her behalf. They are claiming the woman was a bad person while living with her niece. I believe she wouldn’t do this if the woman happened to be her biological mother no matter how bad she claimed she was. Even if she may be having dementia due to her age, living on the streets will worsen her condition. Her niece should step in and render assistance.
So someone was a bad person but yet you allowed her to live with you for a good 10 years in a foreign country. That didn’t add up. 🙄
If the niece were to employ a nanny in the UK for 10 years, wouldn’t she pay for the services?
So she traveled to the UK when she was 67 years of age to be a nanny.💔 That is not encouraging. This case is modern-day slavery, and you will be surprised that many other people are doing the same thing to others abroad which is not nice.
Listen, when they ask you to come abroad to be a nanny for their children, some of them don’t have good intentions for you. Even if they are your family members, make sure you have a written agreement. And don’t try this when you are in your retirement age, better stay in 9ja and eat your amala, akpu, eba, starch, semo, and pounded yam in peace.
