The Leadership of the Abia State Chapter of the Labour Party on Tuesday in Aba presented the party’s flag to its Chairmanship candidates for 17 LGs, ahead of the 2nd November Local Government elections.
The Labour Party Chairmanship Candidate, Chief Ikechukwu Nzeribe Orunta, and 16 others received a Flag from the party leadership.
The Labour Party Nation Vice Chairman Southeast, Comrade Ceekay Igara, while presenting the party flag, said that those who wanted to contest against the party and its candidates in Abia state should be ready.
He expressed optimism that the party would be victorious in the forthcoming Local Government elections. Saying that all our candidates were duly elected in the primary that produced them.
He said that the party’s primaries were monitored by the Electoral Commission and names of the LP candidates were submitted to the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) by the leadership of the party according to electoral guidelines.
The Ikwuano Chairmanship Candidate, Chief Ikechukwu Nzeribe Orunta, while speaking to newsmen, said he was certain that the Labour Party was “destined by God to deliver Ikwuano LGA of Abia State from problems it was currently going through.”
Chief Ikechukwu Nzeribe Orunta said that the party had shown with determination that it was able to administer itself and lead by true democratic principles.
He pledged that they would do their best to provide good governance if elected on 2nd November 2024 as Chairman, his Deputy Chairman, and councilors of all the wards.
