Minister for Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, today, held his first meeting with top management of the Ministry. The meeting, which was held at the conference room of the Minister, had in attendance the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth Development, Mr. Olubunmi Olusanya; Directors of the Ministry; Director General of NYSC, Brig. Gen. YD Ahmed; and the Director General, CLTC, Mr. Adesoji Eniade.
During the meeting, the Minister called for cooperation and unity, emphasizing the need for staff members in the directorate cadre to embrace middle-level and junior staff; and to operate an open-door policy that would enhance cross-fertilization of ideas.
The Minister further charged the management to work hard within the next few months to change the narrative and perception regarding the Youth Development Ministry.
“We must roll up our sleeves and be ready to work harder than before. The President has been doing a lot to make sure the interest of the youth in this country is well protected, it’s left to us as a Ministry to implement the various youth-focused initiatives of this administration and ensure we publicise them for Nigerians to know ”, he said.
