The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has disclosed that power supply has been fully restored after a temporary disturbance on the national grid.
TCNβs Spokesperson Ndidi Mbah, in a statement on Saturday, said the incident occurred at 8:15 a.m. when an explosion rocked the 330kV Jebba Transmission Substation.
Mbah said that TCN engineers at Jebba successfully carried out switchings by isolating the faulty current transformer, adding that the engineers had equally reconfigured the busbar arrangement, restoring power supply to the station, and other parts of the grid.
β As expected, the protection system was activated, and this promptly opened the busbars to curtail the explosion, thereby, preventing outbreak of fire and further damage to adjacent equipment.
βThe action of the protection system led to a temporary disturbance on the grid, β she said.
This latest grid disturbance is the third time in just one week and the eighth this year.
