On the 21st of May 2021, a significant ceremony took place in Odigbo Town of Ondo state, as Honourable Mayowa Akinfolarin, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Odigbo & Ileoluji/Okeigbo Federal Constituency opened and handed over a multi-million naira primary health care facility to the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency.
The event was graced by the presence of prominent personalities, including the Ondo State Commissioner of Health, Hon (Dr. Banji Ajaka, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Takuro Amidu, Permanent Secretary of Health (ably represented) and His Royal Majesty Oba Rufus Akinrinmade, The Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom.
The state-of-the-art primary health care facility is located in the heart of the Odigbo Kingdom, and it was built in accordance with international standards. The facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and facilities to cater to the medical needs of the local community and its environs.
Honourable Mayowa Akinfolarin expressed his deep satisfaction at the completion of the project, emphasizing the significance of quality health care in the development of any society. He reaffirmed his commitment to providing primary health care delivery and reducing the burden of diseases on the people.
The Ondo State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Banji Ajaka in his speech, lauded Honourable Mayowa Akinfolarin for his dedication to the health sector and his fulfillment of his promise of providing a quality primary health care facility for the people. He expressed his confidence that the facility would significantly impact the health status of the people in the community and its surroundings. He also applauded Hon Mayowa Akinfolarin for sharing in the vision of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the health sector.
The Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba Rufus Akinrinmade, thanked Honourable Mayowa Akinfolarin for his contribution to the social and economic development of the community. He urged the people of Ondo state and other local communities to support the government in its efforts to improve the health sector.
The opening and handing over of the multi-million naira primary health care facility to the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency by Honourable Mayowa Akinfolarin was a commendable achievement. It is also a significant testament to the commitment of the Honourable Chairman House committee on fRSC.
