Ondo state must stand up for Aiyedatiwa as true state health of Akeredolu is not known

In the same way that President Umar Musa Yaradua’s true state of health was not known in 2010, no one knows the whereabouts of Gov. Akeredolu Oluwarotimi SAN of Ondo State, the signals so far show all is not well with number one citizen in the sunshine state. The desperation among the political class is a pointer that H.E.

 Lucky Aiyedatiwa needs the support of Ondo State indigenes and security must be beefed up around him, otherwise, these desperadoes don’t mind destroying the work of our past heroes and turn the state to another theater of war. Ondo State people must stand up and ensure the rule of law prevails, we must see Aketi , his current state of health must be known, and the sunshine state must not be ruled by Aketi’s proxies like Mrs. Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu or his son, Babajide Akeredolu. We voted for Mr. Akeredolu Oluwarotimi SAN and H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, if the governor is incapacitated, his deputy takes over says the Nigerian constitution, no provision for his son or wife to rule under our laws, Ondo State is not a Banana Republic or Animal Kingdom*

The latest about the health status of Gov. Akeredolu Oluwarotimi SAN, the executive governor of Ondo State is not known, however, the Sahara reporter said he’s in unpalatable condition, be that as it may, I pray God will heal him. There is a need for me to state categorically here that the current political tempo in the state needs urgent attention and the great people of the State can’t choose to look away. Some desperate individuals want to destroy the state because of their selfish ambitions. Power belongs to God and gives it to anyone he likes, we must learn to maintain political decorum, always stand by justice, truth, fairness, and never allow our today to destroy our tomorrow. The present political gladiators in the sunshine state are ready to fight dirty and want to set the Ondo State on fire, not minding what happens afterward, God forbid. There is no need to hide under a finger here, in the article I wrote following an outburst of Aketi’s wife against Mrs. Bunmi Ademosun, it was clearly stated what might likely be going through the mind of her excellency, necessitated the recorded voice note that went viral about the health of Mr governor. Some assertions were made by my humble self, one of them was that Aketi is sick and it would take the grace of God for his healing, medically, there is no hope, otherwise, the woman who had stayed with him for over forty years wouldn’t come to social media to drag her husband in that ridiculous manner. 

Considering the level of education of Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu and her experience with breast cancer which she is a survivor, for her to come out and gave a conditional statement that if anything happens to Aketi then H.E. lucky Aiyedatiwa takes over, that is a constitutional thing, it’s a bad omen, showing a serious challenge has befallen Aketi in terms of his health status. I suspected a time like this would come in which everything will be directionless as witnessed in the sunshine state. Putting into consideration the way Aketi had sidelined all the heavyweight leaders in his party, no one is strong enough to hold forth the political structure in Ondo state while Arakunrin is unavoidably absent due to his ill – health. Based on the information at my disposal, there is a plan to possibly destabilize everything, the first attempt happened today, there was a drama in the state House of Assembly complex in which the speaker was said to have quit a day before the expiration of his tenure, however, he denied the obvious letter of his resignation, circulating on the social media. Another drama may follow on the day of the inauguration of the 10th legislative assembly, there is a rumor of absurdity that the next speaker will be picked from Owo, the hometown of Aketi, just to pave a way for H.E. lucky Aiyedatiwa’s impeachment.

Unless we start to stand up for ourselves in Nigeria, the current leadership of the country lacks patriotism. In the last presidential election in the USA, Joel Biden, then-Democratic candidate was asked why did he choose Mrs. Harris Kamala as his deputy, the present number one citizen of the greatest country in the world said and I quote ‘Peradventure anything happens to me while in office, Mrs Harris Kamala is capable of leading our beloved country. That is patriotism, the opposite is the situation in Nigeria, our leaders shy away from the fact that there are mortal beings, and anything can happen to them, finally, if an unpalatable event occurs, their lack of preparation will put the state or country in a tumultuous situation. Ordinarily, if Aketi had shown himself as a good leader enough, he was supposed to leave H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the acting capacity and face his health challenge until God gives him victory but his totalitarian and selfish nature didn’t allow the first person in the state to face reality.

In 2007, following a broke out war between Atiku Abubakar, then Vice President, and his boss, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo over third term bid, the latter ensured he neutralized the political relevance of Atiku. To achieve that, Baba Iyabo went for a strong member of the People Democratic Movement, a political family of the late Alhaji Shehu Musa Yaradua, and picked his younger brother as the presidential candidate of the PDP. The general elections were marked with a lot of flaws, nevertheless, Independent National Electoral Commission declared him(Yaradua ) the winner of the worst electoral process visa-vis outcome in the history of Nigeria. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan who had earlier sworn him as the governor of Bayelsa state following the impeachment of his boss Mr. Deprieye Alameiyeseigha on corruption charges became the vice presidential candidate during the PDP convention and finally had a joined mandate with Alhaji Umar Yaradua when Chief Obasanjo transferred power to them. The health status of the president was worsened, refused to hand over governance to his vice president as stipulated by the Nigerian constitution. This forced good Nigerians like Pastor Tunde Bakare, Prof. Wole Soyinka, and others to form a group termed the Saved Nigeria movement, and protested until the right thing was done.

In another power tussle scenario in Taraba state, Mr Danbaba Suntai , a trained pharmacist and politician, became governor after Mr Jolly Nyame in 2007, he was involved in a plane crash and became vegetative i.e he wasn’t unaware of his environment, a very bad neurological state. As expected, a lot of political abracadabra started, aiming at sustaining the sick governor on a seat by his political  beneficiaries , compromising the constitution of the country. It took a lot of court injunctions for the right thing to be done. Africans are not better than animals in their attitudes when it comes to power games, all decorum would be thrown into the wind, just to achieve their illicit and God-forsaken goals. I know politicians in the state are feeling uncomfortable with the present development, believing H.E. lucky Aiyedatiwa will be an advantage ahead of Ondo 2024, forgetting the fact that power belongs to God and gives to anyone he likes. It’s always better to do the right things but these people fail to understand this basic fact.
