Member representing Akwanga/Nassarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency, Mr Jeremiah Umaru has promised to run all inclusive representation in the green chamber of the National Assembly (NASS) that will benefit constituents regardless of any affiliation.
Umaru gave the promise at a reception organized in his honour following his swearing-in and inauguration of the 10th Assembly over the weekend.
The federal lawmaker who assured of a responsive and effective representation said with their support and prayers, constituents wouldn’t regret voting him as their representative.
“The journey has officially started even though we have been working with my team round the clock in preparation for this moment and I wish to remind us all that it is the time to focus on the task ahead, which is to continue the work of taking our people from poverty to prosperity.
“I see this victory as a call for more work for the progress of Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency and I want to reassure you that, this will be a representation that will not discriminate on the basis of religion, ethnicity or background.
“We won’t discriminate against those who did not support us. It will be a representation for all constituents and for the progress of the Constituency,” the 39-year-old Lawmaker assured.
The reception held at his hometown, Sisinbaki in the Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State had in attendance people from all walks of life including traditional and religious leaders.
Dignitaries who attended the event include the Deputy Governor of the State, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe who said the Constituency lucky to have the young and vibrant youth as their representative.
“I urge you all to continue to pray for Jeremiah Umaru and appreciate God Almighty for giving you a committed, dedicated and highly intelligent young and vibrant youth as your representative,” Akabe said.
His colleagues led by Jafaru Gambo Leko also enjoined the people to continue to support and pray for him.
Leko who represents Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State also solicited for their prayers to succeed in office.
“Pray that we the young legislators will not lead selfishly, for personal ambition or vain conceit because leading is really a task that requires us to serve our people and change the narratives,” he urged them.
Umaru was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 parliamentary election.
