Hon. Festus Adefiranye champions rehabilitation and dualization of Ore -Ondo – Akure Federal road

Of note that the road section which takes off from Akure the state capital of Ondo state transverse through several cities, towns and communities in Akure South, Ondo East, Ondo West and Odigbo local Government Area of the State. Further note, it serves as major link between Ondo State and other parts of the country and major key economic benefits of the road is that it can provide direct access to commuters coming from Northern Parts of the country, Southeast and South South geographical zones of the country to Ore the economic and industrial hub of Ondo State.

Recognizing the significance of a well-maintained and efficient road network, Hon. Festus Adefiranye has put forth some crucial prayers in his motion.

First and foremost, he urges the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing to include the reconstruction and dualization of the Ore-Ondo-Akure Federal Road in the 2024 budget estimate. This inclusion would pave the way for the allocation of necessary funds to complete the project. By securing a place in the budget,there will be greater chance of obtaining the necessary funds to kick-start and sustain this vital project.

Secondly he also urge the Federal Government to award the road to reliable and competent contractors and ensure its timely completion to ease the suffering of Nigerians and foster economic growth. By entrusting the task to capable hands, the project can be executed efficiently  and to the highest standards, minimizing delays and maximizing the benefits for the people.

Lastly, mandate the Committee on Works and Appropriation (when constituted) to ensure compliance. This accountability measure will help keep the process on track, ensuring that the allocated funds are properly utilized and the project is completed as intended.

      

The Ore-Ondo-Akure Federal Road serves as a crucial link between various communities, facilitating transportation of goods, services, and people. However, the deteriorating condition of this road has led to numerous challenges, including longer travel time, increased vehicular accidents, and economic setbacks for local businesses.

The motion put forth by Hon. Festus Adefiranye demonstrates his commitment to the welfare and well-being of his constituents. By advocating for the reconstruction and dualization of the Ore-Ondo-Akure Federal Road, he seeks to ensure safer and more efficient transportation for all.

It is our hope that the House of Representatives recognizes the significance of this motion and, subsequently, the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing prioritizes the rehabilitation and dualization of this critical road. Such renovations would not only directly benefit the residents of Ileoluji/Okeigbo & Odigbo Federal Constituency but also contribute to the overall socioeconomic development of Ondo State. Let us hope that the motion receives necessary support and attention from relevant authorities to make this road rehabilitation and dualization a reality, and ultimately contribute to the growth and progress of the nation as a whole.

Therefore all hands must be on deck in  supporting Hon. Festus Adefiranye in his efforts to advance this motion, ultimately improving the quality of transportation and driving sustainable development in the region.
