The Kaduna State Government, on Thursday, reaffirmed its commitment to attracting foreign direct investment, citing the success of Arla Farms, a pioneering dairy farm in the country.
The state Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, who stated this at the Arla Farms Open Day in Damau, Kubau Local Government Area of the state, emphasised the state’s conducive business environment, streamlined processes, and reduced bureaucratic hurdles.
The Deputy Governor also invited the international community to explore the state’s vast investment opportunities.
“Arla Farms’ investment in Kaduna State reflects the conducive business environment we have created.
“This project strengthens our dairy sector, empowers local communities, and significantly contributes to our state’s economy,” she said.
The Deputy Governor commended the company for introducing modern farming techniques and technology, alongside capital investment, into Nigeria’s dairy industry.
She also noted that the project offered a promising solution to the farmer-herder conflict by demonstrating how modern cattle rearing could be both profitable and sustainable.

She added that Kaduna State’s investment drive has yielded significant results, with Arla Farms’ investment exceeding N10 billion.
Consequently, she assured the dairy company of the state government’s unwavering support and invited the international community to explore Kaduna State’s vast investment opportunities.
“Arla Farms has enhanced domestic milk production and addressed food security challenges in Nigeria.
“Senator Uba Sani’s administration remains committed to supporting the business community and creating a favourable investment climate.
“We continue to streamline processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and provide essential infrastructure for businesses of all sizes.”
Earlier in his remarks, Arla’s Managing Director, Mr. Peder Pedersen, praised the state government’s support while noting that the firm was committed to Nigeria’s dairy industry.
The Managing Director, represented by Elele Ogunsanya, the firm’s Senior Corporate Affairs and Communications Officer, highlighted the firm’s innovative methods to reduce environmental impact while increasing efficiency and productivity.
According to him, Arla’s partnership with the Kaduna State Government has yielded significant results, particularly through the Damau Household Milk Farming Project.
He said, “We are proud to share our knowledge and expertise with local farmers, students, and stakeholders.
“Our goal is to inspire widespread adoption of sustainable techniques and address the limited availability of skilled dairy farming professionals.”
“This initiative aims to empower 1,000 local farmers with training, veterinary services, and modern techniques.
“We believe that by supporting small-scale farmers, we can enhance their productivity, increase household income, and improve the quality of life in rural communities.”
The event drew diplomats from Denmark, Sweden, and other countries, highlighting Kaduna State’s growing appeal as a preferred investment destination
