On Sunday, Kellyrae was announced as the winner of this year’s Big Brother Naija Season 9, claiming the grand prize of N60 million, an SUV, and additional rewards.
He narrowly defeated competitors such as Wanni, who finished as the runner-up, and Onyeka, who secured the second runner-up position.
Kellyrae now joins last season’s All-Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya (Gen Z Baddie), in claiming the grand prize.
Considered Nigeria’s most eagerly awaited TV show, this season’s theme, “No Loose Guard,” which debuted on July 24, 2024, introduced 14 pairs of housemates.
However, just one pair and six individual contestants advanced to the final.
This year’s edition featured a unique change, requiring participants to apply in pairs.
Among the eight finalists, Kellyrae, Victoria, and Wanni were widely regarded by viewers as favorites to secure spots in the top three and claim final podium positions.
The finale was a glamorous event, showcasing performances by renowned artists Joseph Akinfewa-Donus, known as Joeboy, and Chimamanda Chukwuma, popularly called Qing Madi.
