At a special ceremony held today, Governor Agbu Kefas renamed the remodeled Taraba State Government House in Jalingo after retired General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff, with several prominent individuals in attendance.
The Permanent Secretary of Government House Administration, Mr. Ibrahim Yaboro, stated at the ceremony that Taraba State Government House had been in disrepair since its creation in 1991, with Governor Kefas inheriting a dilapidated office and residence in 2023.
Under Governor Kefas, several infrastructure developments have taken place, including the construction of ten Special Advisers’ offices, three security gates, an armory, a guest house, a fire station, a warehouse, a canteen, and a banquet hall.
During the unveiling of the ‘T.Y. Danjuma House’, General Danjuma applauded Governor Kefas for his swift efforts in modernizing the Government House.
Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Alkali, in his welcome address, highlighted the renovations as proof of the Kefas administration’s commitment to improving the state’s infrastructure. He added that the Governor’s dedication is an inspiration to all.
After the unveiling, several officials, including the Emir of Muri, His Royal Highness Alhaji Njidda Abbas Tafida, and other top government and security officials, spoke about the Governor’s developmental achievements in the state.
Dignitaries, including Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, PDP Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, and former Minister of Information Professor Jerry Gana, as well as traditional rulers and national Legislators, attended the event.
