Representatives for Melania Trump’s book publisher reportedly asked for $250,000 in exchange for an interview with her ahead of her upcoming memoir’s release, according to CNN.
While CNN was attempting to secure the interview, Skyhorse Publishing provided the network with a document titled “Confidentiality and Nondisclosure Agreement,” which outlined strict conditions for the interview and the use of material from the book. This document specified that CNN would need to pay the licensing fee of $250,000, though the network chose not to sign it.
When CNN followed up about the fee days later, Tony Lyons, president and publisher of Skyhorse Publishing, stated that neither Melania Trump nor her team was aware of the NDA and that the document resulted from an internal miscommunication.
Meanwhile, Melania Trump has been selective with her interviews, recently participating in an exclusive one-on-one with Fox News, which aired on “Fox & Friends.” Fox clarified that they did not pay any fees for the interview, including for photo licensing.
During the interview, Trump addressed assassination attempts against her husband, former President Trump, criticized the 2022 raid on their Mar-a-Lago estate, and expressed her views on media coverage of the 2024 presidential election.
