In a recently leaked audio recording by VDM, controversial Nigerian social media personality Bobrisky discusses the details surrounding a previous money lau.ndering case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Bobrisky explains how, when faced with charges and sentencing, a close and influential associate, referred to as his “godfather,” stepped in to intervene. This individual reportedly arranged for Bobrisky to serve his sentence in a private apartment instead of prison.
In exchange for these special accommodations, Bobrisky claims that seven million Naira was paid to the Controller General of Prisons, the highest authority in Nigeria’s prison system.
“When I was sentenced, my godfather called the controller General of Prisons, we paid 7 million Naira, they put me in an apartment close to the prison, he told me I must not come out until I finished my sentence”
“ when I was charged to court by the EFCC for spraying of money, I told the court that ‘I am guilty’ thinking maybe the judge will pity me and tell me to pay a fine or do community service but sadly, the court sentenced me to prison.
I was on my way to the prison when my godfather called me and said ‘you will not enter that prison ‘ma worry’, let me make arrangement for an apartment close to the prison’ and he said that he is going to call the controller General, the overall in Nigeria, in Abuja and talk to them.
They shall talk and they now took me to one apartment that I must not come out until I finish my sentence, that Oga said they should come and keep me here and that nobody should know that I am here.”
