Rosemary Isong, a Nigerian lady, stirred a heated conversation on social media after expressing her dissatisfaction with dating a man who has never asked her for financial aid.
According to Isong, the absence of financial transparency and open conversation about money matters in a relationship is a huge red flag.
Isong, who spoke passionately about her beliefs, stated that she feels that a solid relationship should entail the openness to talk money concerns freely.
She underlined that if her spouse does not seek financial assistance from her, even for relatively small amounts such as N20,000 or N50,000, she will be concerned.
She went on to say that if her significant other turned to friends instead of her in times of financial hardship, it would be disrespectful to her and could harm their relationship.
The young woman further revealed that in a relationship, her financial philosophy is founded on reciprocity and trust.
Isong stated that if she has been seeing someone for six months and he has never sought for financial help, she considers it a deal breaker.
Isong’s words elicited a wide range of reactions on social media platforms.

But for mrn like me, sometimes make her pay for a food or sth we bought together that you think she can afford. Tell her to recharge you and when she does, pay her back… Just be a man. That’s it”
