The U.S. Navy has launched precision-guided Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAMs) at key weapon production and storage facilities used by the Houthi terrorist group in Yemen.
The attack targeted strategic sites involved in the manufacturing and storage of weapons, as well as command and control structures, located in areas controlled by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
These operations took place while U.S. destroyers were positioned in the Red Sea, as confirmed by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
According to Jerusalem Post, this missile strike is part of a broader U.S. military effort to disrupt Houthi capabilities, which have been a significant source of regional instability.
The Houthis have previously carried out attacks on vital shipping lanes in the Red Sea, heightening concerns over security in this critical region.
The U.S. military aims to reduce the Houthis’ ability to launch further attacks against regional allies, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, who have been targeted by Houthi forces in the past.
The attack is also indicative of the ongoing tension between the United States and Iran-supported factions in the Middle East.
The U.S. seeks to limit the influence of groups like the Houthis, who are backed by Iran, and curb their destabilizing actions in the region.
This missile strike is one of several military operations in response to growing concerns over Iranian-backed militant activity.
The international community is closely monitoring the escalating situation, which continues to fuel broader geopolitical challenges.
