The ICPC secured the conviction of Lukumanu Sani Waziri, an accountant at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH), for diverting over ₦60 million through unauthorized access to the Government Integrated Financial Information System (GIFMIS).
Waziri was found guilty on seven of nine charges, receiving a combined sentence of up to three years imprisonment or fines totaling ₦1.4 million. The fraud scheme involved altering financial records and transferring funds to personal and accomplice accounts. The sentences will run concurrently.
