A man, estimated to be about 45 years old, was discovered dead in a well in Babawa village, Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Kano State Fire Service received an emergency alert from ASP Kabiru Lawan of the Gezawa Police Division at approximately 12:59 p.m.
According to a statement by ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the Fire Service, a rescue team arrived at the scene by 1:25 p.m.
āUpon arrival, our team found a man, approximately 45 years old, unconscious in the well. Unfortunately, he was confirmed dead due to prolonged exposure,ā Abdullahi said.
Efforts to identify the deceased were unsuccessful, as neither community leaders nor residents recognized him.
The body was later handed over to ASP Kabiru Lawan for further investigation into the incident.
