The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has accepted an invitation from Nigerian President Bola Tinubu to visit Nigeria in 2025.
President Tinubu extended the invitation during a bilateral meeting on Wednesday night at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi, where both leaders discussed enhancing economic cooperation and attracting investments into Nigeria.
The meeting occurred as President Tinubu attended the UAE’s Sustainability Week, a global forum addressing climate change, water scarcity, and energy challenges. Tinubu congratulated Al Nahyan on successfully hosting the event and presented Nigeria’s stance on climate issues and global challenges.
Al Nahyan expressed the UAE’s commitment to deepening economic collaboration with Nigeria and commended Tinubu for accepting the invitation to the Sustainability Week. Tinubu highlighted that Nigeria’s economic reforms are boosting investor confidence, with international companies committing billions of dollars in investments.
The Nigerian delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Finance Wale Edun, and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. Joining the UAE President were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
