U.S. President Donald Trump announced the dismissal of four senior officials appointed by his predecessor in his first post on Truth Social since taking office.
In the early hours of Tuesday, Trump revealed plans to remove over a thousand presidential appointees from the previous administration, stating they do not align with his “Make America Great Again” vision.
The immediate dismissals include Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition; Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council; Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars; and Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council.
“Let this serve as Official Notice of Dismissal for these 4 individuals, with many more coming soon,” Trump posted, ending with his signature phrase, “YOU’RE FIRED!”
The move signals potential widespread changes across U.S. government institutions as Trump aims to fulfill campaign promises to streamline the civil service and improve efficiency, including possible department closures.
