Security operatives in Kogi State rescued three pastors and 13 other victims who were kidnapped by hoodlums in the Ofu Local Government Area.
The victims were abducted after a crusade in Ejule, Ofu LG, while the pastors were ambushed on their way to a guest house on January 20. The Nigerian Army, along with other security agencies, launched a two-night search and located the kidnappers in a forest.
After a two-hour gunfight, the kidnappers fled, leaving the victims behind with varying degrees of injury. Kogi State Deputy Governor Joel Salifu praised the security forces for their bravery and reassured the public that the state is committed to ensuring safety and protecting citizens under Governor Ahmed Ododo’s leadership.
