Ọ̀yọ́ State Governor, Basorun Seyi Makinde, has named Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade as the new Aláàfin of Ọ̀yọ́.
A statement from the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, confirmed that after thorough consultations and divinations, Prince Owoade was recommended by the Ọ̀yọ́mesi and approved by Governor Makinde.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ademola Ojo, issued the official announcement, noting that this resolution ends the legal and social disputes that arose following the death of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III on April 22, 2022.
Governor Makinde urged the people of Ọ̀yọ́ State to celebrate this significant event and support the new Aláàfin.
