Considering the vital role of humanitarian services in the socio-economic development of society, it is important to address the perspective of the Lord Bishop, Dr Stephen Fagbemi, the Diocesan Bishop of the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew, Imola Owo. It should be noted that Revd. Fagbemi has lamented that the two-term federal lawmaker is not accessible to his people. Meanwhile, the Reverend has voiced his opinion alongside the minority opposition.
While I acknowledge and respect the right of the Lord Bishop to express his views, it is equally important, as the Chairman of the ruling party that has supported Otunba Timilehin Adelegbe through two election cycles, to set the record straight.
Otunba Timilehin Adelegbe has demonstrated unwavering competence and capacity in serving the well-being of his constituents during his six years as a member of the National Assembly. His tenure has been marked by a commitment to impactful initiatives, sustainable empowerment, and the execution of legacy projects.
In comparison to his peers, Otunba Adelegbe has achieved remarkable milestones since assuming office as a member of the House of Representatives in this Fourth Republic. His contributions include:
1. Construction of a four-story Hall of Fame at Olowo Palace.
2. Completion of a modern hall at Ojomo Palace.
3. Establishment of an acquisition centre at Adeyere/Iyere Grammar School.
4. Renovation of three classrooms and offices at Emure Ile Community School.
5. Provision of a 33 KVA transformer for Upenmen town.
6. Supply of a 33 KVA transformer to the Ujelu community in Idasen, Owo.
7. Ongoing construction of an ultra-modern town hall in Isuada.
8. Provision of a science laboratory at Uso Grammar School, Uso.
9. Ongoing construction of an ultra-modern town hall in Ipele.
10. Fencing of the new Oniyere Palace in Iyere.
11. Grading of rural roads across farm settlements in Owo Local Government Area (2023/24).
12. Installation of solar-powered lights in Upenmen.
13. Installation of solar-powered lights in Idasen, Owo.
These accomplishments underscore Otunba Adelegbe’s commitment to delivering meaningful and sustainable projects that directly improve the lives of his constituents.
