The National Body of the Ose Local Government Students Association of Nigeria (OSESAN) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Barr. Clement Kolapo Ojo on his election as the Chairman of Ose Local Government. The association also celebrated the successful election of the 12 Councillors representing the 12 wards of the local government.
In a statement issued by the leadership of OSESAN, they described the victory as a reflection of the people’s confidence in the abilities of Hon. Ojo and the newly elected representatives to drive inclusive governance, development, and unity within the local government.
The leadership of OSESAN emphasized the critical need for the newly elected leaders to prioritize the welfare and development of the students’ community in Ose Local Government. They noted that the student body has consistently served as a vital stakeholder in the progress of the local government, contributing significantly to its intellectual and socio-economic development.
OSESAN further reiterated its long-standing agitation for student inclusion in governance, urging the Chairman and Councillors to create sustainable platforms that will engage students in decision-making processes. The association recommended the establishment of a Student Affairs Office within the council structure to address issues specific to the student community and foster a robust partnership between the local government and the association.
The leadership of OSESAN also called for deliberate investment in educational infrastructure, scholarship schemes, and skill acquisition programs to empower the youth and promote academic excellence. They stressed that the inclusion of students in governance would not only amplify their voices but also position them as critical agents of change in the development of Ose Local Government.
In conclusion, OSESAN assured Hon. Ojo and the elected Councillors of the association’s unwavering support and collaboration in ensuring the success of their administration. They charged the new leaders to live up to the expectations of the electorate by ensuring that their tenure is characterized by transparency, accountability, and a commitment to the growth of Ose Local Government, with particular attention to the students’ community.
