Orozo, a quiet suburb of Abuja, woke up to a gruesome and horrifying discovery today as a young man was apprehended carrying his girlfriend’s severed head in a Baco bag, allegedly for ritual purposes.
The shocking incident unfolded near a church where members were holding a Sunday service. Caleb Umaru II, a social media user, shared disturbing photos and videos of the scene with a chilling caption:
”💔 I got the shock of my life as we apprehended a Yah*oo ritualist with a human head (his girlfriend’s) inside a nylon close to our church during service. I thought I just used to watch things like this until I experienced it ‘live’ today. And this guy said the remaining body of the girl is still in his house.”
According to an eyewitness who spoke about the harrowing encounter, the suspect’s suspicious movements near the church window caught the attention of one of the worshippers. Acting on their instincts, the church member raised an alarm, prompting the congregation to stop their service and apprehend the man.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to beheading his girlfriend and revealed that the rest of her body was still in his house.
The community has been thrown into chaos, with residents and church members struggling to process the horrific event. Many had only heard of such ritualistic crimes in movies or on the news, making the reality of witnessing it firsthand even more traumatic.
Eyewitnesses described the suspect as calm during his arrest, which only deepened their unease. Videos and images shared online showed the gruesome contents of the bag, a sight that has left many in the community deeply disturbed.
