Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, has officially launched 231 streetlights and a five-kilometer road project in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, the hometown of his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
In a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, Yusuf emphasized that the completion of the streetlight and road projects aligns with his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and providing essential services to the people of Kano State.
He urged the residents of Dawakin Tofa to responsibly utilize the new facilities and stay alert to prevent vandalism.
During the inauguration, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Chairman, Anas Danmaliki, who was represented by his deputy Abdullahi Aliyu, expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for completing the projects. He highlighted the significant impact of the streetlights, noting they would enhance safety, stimulate economic activities, and improve the overall quality of life in the area.
Magaji also appealed to the governor to consider reopening the Entrepreneurship Institute in Dawakin Tofa, which had been closed during the Ganduje administration, stressing that revitalizing the institution would provide youth with essential skills for self-reliance and contribute to the local economy.
