…moves for Obosa’s suspendsion
Councilors of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area on Tuesday, disassociated themselves from the purported impeachment of the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, his Vice, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, by one Obosa Ogbeide, who before now, was Councilor, Ward 6, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government.
The former Councilor was said to have purportedly suspended the Leader of Ikpoba-Okha Legislative Arm, Hon. Kingsley Balogban and impeached the Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government and Vice Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande and Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, respectively.
In a swift reaction at a Press Conference on Tuesday, Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Kingsley Balogban, noted that Obosa’s action is lawless, illegal and a charade, and should be disregarded outrightly.
Declaring support for the PDP candidate and his running mate in the Edo 2024 gubernatorial election, Hon. Balogban noted that Ikpoba-Okha Councilors are with Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie, and will continue to exercise unwavering loyalty to the PDP.
“We want to further pass a vote of confidence on the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, his Vice, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, for the excellent leadership they have shown; we wish to inform the public that the purpoted impeachment of the Chairman and Vice by one Councilor is nothing but a charade that must be disregarded”.
“All the Councilors in Ikpoba-Okha are with the PDP Candidates, the PDP, the Council Chairman and his Vice, one misled Councilor cannot unlawfully impeach a Chairman and his Vice, we advice the public to disregard the action”, Balogban added.
Councilor, Ward 10 and Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Felix Ohen, who seconded the House Leader’s confidence vote on the Council Chairman and Vice, moved a motion for the immediate suspension of the Ward 6 Councilor, Jolly Obosa Ogbeide, which was endorsed by the House.
Obosa Ogbeide stands suspended and the general public is by this notice, informed to disregard the purported impeachment carried out by only him this afternoon.
Councilors present at the press conference include Councilor, Ward 1, Hon. Lucy Guobadia, Councilor, Ward 3, Hon. Osahon Usiobaifo, Councilor, Ward 4, Hon. Esosa Odia-Nosa, Councilor, Ward 5, Hon. Martins Oshodin, Councilor, Ward 7, and Leader of the House, Hon. Kingsley Balogban, Councilor, Ward 8, Hon. Esosa Joan Orumwense, Councilor, Ward 9, Hon. Yvonne Obazee and Councilor, Ward 10, Hon. Felix Ohen.
Also present at the Tuesday press conference, were the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Chairman, Dr. Eric Osayande, his Vice, Hon. Osamuyi Idehen, and the Secretary to Local Government, Barr. Osagie Igbinomwanhia.
