Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, Member Representing Akoko Northeast/Northwest Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has lauded the successful conduct of the local government elections held across the eighteen local government areas of Ondo State.
In his remarks, Hon. Ehindero described the election as a significant stride in deepening grassroots democracy and a testament to the maturity of Ondo State’s democratic institutions.
“The peaceful conduct of the local government election is a victory for democracy and for all citizens of Ondo State. It shows our commitment to ensuring that governance at the grassroots remains a cornerstone of development,” he said.
Hon. Ehindero congratulated the winners of the election and commended all other contestants for their courage and sportsmanship. “Elections are not just about winning; they are about offering ideas, showing dedication, and embracing the will of the people. To every contestant, your efforts reflect the true spirit of democracy,” he added.
He further appreciated the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) and security agencies for their professionalism and dedication in ensuring a credible, free, and fair election.
“The successful conduct of this election is a credit to the people of Ondo State, ODIEC, and all stakeholders involved. This level of maturity must be sustained as we continue to build a stronger and more united state,” Hon. Ehindero emphasized.
He also commended the leadership of the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for creating an enabling environment for the polls and urged the newly elected officials to prioritize the development and well-being of the people in their respective areas.
