Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has sworn in Mr. Benson Ojeikere, an indigene of Edo State, as the new Head of Service of Abia State.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, during a press briefing following the State Executive Council meeting on Monday.
Prince Kanu highlighted Mr. Ojeikereβs remarkable journey, noting that he was recognized as the Best Corps Member in Abia State during the 1999-2000 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year.
Impressed by his dedication and excellence, the then-state government retained him in its service.
Over the years, Mr. Ojeikere has risen through the ranks, serving as a director and later as a permanent secretary before his current appointment as Head of Service.
The commissioner further described Mr. Ojeikere as an exemplary leader whose wealth of experience will benefit the civil service and the state at large noting that Governor Ottiβs decision to appoint Mr. Ojeikere underscores his commitment to fostering inclusivity and rewarding excellence, irrespective of ethnic or geographical origins.
