The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, has declared Ekiti State Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport ready for full commercial operations. Speaking after today’s facility inspection alongside Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Keyamo described the runway as world-class and affirmed that the airport meets global standards for safety and operations.
The Minister noted the airport’s readiness at 99.5 percent, adding that the apron is large enough to accommodate multiple 737 aircraft, making it comparable to international airports globally. He emphasised that the airport’s facilities, including the fire station, control tower, and navigational equipment, are fully in place, paving the way for commercial airlines to commence operations soon.
Governor Oyebanji expressed gratitude to the Honourable Minister, Aare Afe Babalola, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their unwavering support in completing the airport. He highlighted the project as a testament to the gains of continuity and a significant step in enhancing Ekiti’s economy through agriculture, tourism, and commerce.
