Boeing International Corporation has pledged to assist Nigerian airlines in securing adequate aircraft insurance through collaborations with stable lessors and global financiers, announced by Moore Ibekwe, Boeing’s Africa Region Sales Director, at the inaugural Boeing Lessor Forum in Dublin.
Mr. Ibekwe highlighted the importance of robust aviation insurance in mitigating risks and ensuring financial stability in Nigeria’s aviation sector, praising Nigeria’s top compliance ranking in the Cape Town Convention index.
Meanwhile, Boeing continues to face challenges, including safety and quality control issues, production halts due to strikes, and a crisis of confidence following incidents like the 737 MAX crashes and operational faults in its Starliner capsule. CEO Kelly Ortberg acknowledged the erosion of trust in Boeing and outlined a strategic plan to regain industry leadership, focusing on reducing debt, cultural reforms, and disciplined execution of new aircraft platforms.
The company is striving to overcome its challenges while maintaining support for emerging markets like Nigeria.
