Following news of bandits and Boko Haram members escaping southwards from military onslaught, the Osun State Amotekun Corps Commander, Adekunle Omoyele has vowed not to allow criminality thrives in the state.
He also disclosed that the corps has deployed operatives to hot spots, especially forest areas with a view to flushing out criminal minded persons from the area, saying the corps has placed priority on credible intelligence to fight criminals.
In a statement issued by its Spokesperson, Yusuf Idowu on Sunday, Omoyele assured residents of the State of Amotekun commitment to ensuring their safety day and night.
According to him, the corps is sending a clear and unambiguous message to all criminals, Osun is not a sanctuary for bandits, kidnappers, or any group intending to disrupt the peace and security of our people.
“We will not tolerate the presence of these lawless elements in our midst. Our men are fully deployed, vigilant, and ready to combat any threats with the utmost force.”
“We are actively tracking and monitoring all suspicious movements across the state, and any attempt by these criminals to make Osun their base will be met with relentless opposition.
“Amotekun is not just a watchful presence; we are a force for peace, and we will continue to intensify our operations against terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry. We will flush out every criminal who dares to threaten the peace of Osun.”
While stressing that the corps would carry out its mandate without compromise, he urged Osun residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and cooperate with security forces in the ongoing efforts to keep the state free from criminal threats.
“We understand the concerns of our people, but let me make this crystal clear: the safety of every individual in Osun is non-negotiable. We will stop at nothing to ensure that bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists have no foothold in this state”, he added.
