The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by Chief Emeka Beke, has dismissed claims by the faction led by Chief Tony Okocha that former Minister of Transportation and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, is secretly working with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
The factional Publicity Secretary of the APC in Rivers State, Chibuike Ikenga, had alleged in an interview that Amaechi was conspiring with Atiku and also collaborating with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to destabilize the APC in the state, using the judiciary.
However, the Publicity Secretary of the APC under Bekeās leadership, Darlington Nwauju, refuted the allegations in a statement issued on Monday.
He described Ikengaās claims as malicious and nothing more than ātales by moonlight.ā
Nwauju accused Ikenga of attempting to tarnish Amaechiās reputation and create discord between Fubara and President Tinubu.
He urged the public to disregard the allegations, labeling them as baseless.
