Sowore criticizes Governor Wike following his son’s graduation from a UK university, questioning his leadership and political journey after serving as minister and governor.
Renowned activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), after his recent graduation from a university in the United Kingdom.
According to reports, Wike revealed on his official Facebook page that his son, Jordan, obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Queen Mary University in London, UK.
The post has consistently attracted comments from Nigerians, who have accused politicians of undermining the country’s education system while subsequently sending their own children to study abroad.
In response to the post, Sowore criticized the former Rivers State Governor on his official X account.
Sowore claims that despite holding public office for many years, the Minister was unable to establish a school suitable for enrolling his own son.
Sowore stated, “Nyesom Wike held the position of local government chairman for two terms, served as Minister of Education for four years, and was the Governor of Rivers State for eight years across two terms.”
He serves as the FCT Minister, yet he chooses to send his children to schools in the UK despite contributing to the decline of education in Nigeria and utilizing funds misappropriated from public resources.
