The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced scheduled power disruptions across parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from January 6 to 21, 2025.
According to a statement on its official X handle, the blackout is due to the Federal Capital Development Authority’s (FCDA) relocation of the 33KV DC Airport Feeder and 132KV Kukwaba-Apo Transmission Line Towers along the Outer Southern Motorway.
Affected areas include Lugbe, Airport Road, Kapwa, NNPC, Games Village, National Stadium, Eye Clinic, Indoor Complex, Christ Embassy Church, American International School, EFCC Headquarters, Coca-Cola, Railway, FMC, and parts of Apo, Gudu, Kubwa, Bwari, Jahi, Jabi, Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Keffi, and surrounding areas.
AEDC advised residents to prepare for the temporary disruptions during this period.
