Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has sent 204 indigenes to the United Kingdom under his administration’s scholarship scheme. The beneficiaries departed yesterday.
Governor Nwifuru revealed his commitment to ensuring that 8,000 Ebonyi youths benefit from the state’s scholarship program before the end of his tenure. This initiative aims to equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed to drive the state’s development.
Additionally, 541 students have been enrolled in Nigerian universities, with all expenses fully covered by the Ebonyi State Government.
The governor urged the newly enrolled scholars to serve as exemplary ambassadors of Ebonyi State, stressing the importance of their conduct, achievements, and words as a reflection of the collective identity of their people. He also emphasized the need for timely graduation and encouraged them to return to the state to apply their specialized skills for its progress.
