In Lusaka, Zambia, a 42-year-old man has sought divorce after a photo of his wife with American R&B star Chris Brown went viral on social media.
The photograph, captured during a “meet and greet” event after Chris Brown’s concert at the FNB Stadium in South Africa, depicts the singer giving a kiss on the cheek to the 34-year-old woman.
The photo garnered significant attention online, eliciting a variety of responses.
In court documents, the husband characterized the photograph as “demeaning” and asserted that it disrespected him, causing irreparable damage to their marriage.
He contended that his wife’s behavior was unsuitable for a married woman, pointing to a violation of trust and their marital vows.
The woman, on the other hand, stood by the photo, claiming it was an innocuous element of the event package and did not deserve such backlash. According to reports, upon being confronted about it, she disregarded her husband’s concerns which only added more tension to their relationship.
“My wife’s behavior was inappropriate for a married woman. This photo has publicly embarrassed me and caused emotional distress,” the husband told the court.
The wife has, however, insisted that the kiss wasn’t romantic and shouldn’t be misinterpreted. She emphasized that it was a playful moment during an interaction with fans and never meant any disrespect towards her husband.
She additionally claimed that her husband was overreacting and using the incident as a pretext for deeper issues in their marriage.
