Bashmed FA will knock horns with Global Legend Sport in the opening match of the Waziri’s Cup 2024.
The draw ceremony was held at SMABis Sports Arena, Fate, Ilorin, Kwara state on Tuesday, 10th December, 2024.
The tournament was organized by Kwara Youths to celebrate the 62nd birthday of former Senate president, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the Waziri of Ilorin (CON)
The opening game between the two sides will hold on Wednesday (tomorrow) 11th, December at Maracana Stadium, Adewole, Ilorin while the second match of the day will be between Adigun FC and Hollark FC at the same venue.
In other parings Real Gold FA will trade tackles with KAAH FA, while Ogidi Boys will face Sakele Emirate FC.
Young Anthlers will square off against Dohz SA, Olatunji FC and Focus FC will play each other, Shadow Rangers and Unity FA will knock horns and Amugold FC were paired with Limited FC.
The 8-days 5 Aside football tournament is a knockout match as the winners will smile home with grand prize of Five hundred thousand Naira (#500,000) and other consolation prizes.
In his remarks at the event ceremony, Hon. Moshood Bakare commended the organizers for hosting the tournament, urging to them to a spirit of sportsmanship and wishing all the teams a successful tournament.
Also Director of Football, ABS Ilorin FC, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka affirmed that, the most valuable player of the tournament will join ABS Ilorin FC.
He also promised that, the winner of the tournament will be gifted a branded new jersey.

Mr Abiodun Ajala, Mr Abdulwahab Funsho, Com. Nurudeen Okin, Veteran sports Journalist Bayour Issah, Miss Engr. Godwin Adejoh, Alhaji Aluko Taiye, Comrade Mukadam Sakama and other notable individuals.
