Donald Trump called the resignation of FBI Director Christopher Wray a “great day for America,” claiming it marks the end of the “weaponization” of the Department of Justice.
In a statement on Thursday, Trump accused Wray of undermining his presidency, alleging that under his leadership, the FBI “illegally raided” his home and interfered with his success. Trump endorsed Kash Patel as the most qualified nominee to lead the FBI, promising to restore law and order, and emphasized the need for a fair justice system.
He expressed respect for the rank-and-file FBI members, adding that the American people demand a strong, fair system of justice.
