A senior member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) warns that the party must foster discipline within its ranks or forget any chance of success in the 2027 elections. Discover more on this critical warning.”
A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Niyi Adams, has asserted that the party should abandon plans to field candidates for the 2027 general elections if it fails to maintain discipline among its members.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Adams, a former State Youth Leader, emphasized that the party’s chances of regaining influence in 2027 would be severely compromised if it continues to tolerate indiscipline and actions detrimental to its interests.
He highlighted the necessity for the party to confront these issues, which have plagued it since losing power in 2015, and argued that while reconciliation is important, it must be accompanied by clear boundaries to prevent recurrence of past mistakes.
Adams warned that without a commitment to discipline, any reconciliation efforts would be futile, urging party leaders to move beyond the events of the 2023 elections and focus on the future, as the public looks to the PDP for leadership.
He also suggested that external factors have contributed to the party’s current challenges and stressed the need for accountability within its ranks.
