Spotify Wrapped 2024 has arrived, and for the second year in a row, Taylor Swift reigns as the platform’s most-streamed artist.
On Wednesday, Spotify released its annual review of individual listening habits and global music trends, allowing users to explore their most-played artists, songs, genres, albums, and podcasts. Swift led the charge with over 26.6 billion streams globally, followed by The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake, and Billie Eilish. In the U.S., Swift took the top spot, with Drake, Zach Bryan, Morgan Wallen, and Kanye West rounding out the top five.
Swift’s success extended beyond streaming dominance; her album, The Tortured Poets Department, claimed the title of the most-streamed album worldwide in 2024. The U.S. list saw similar trends, with Swift’s album leading the charge, followed by Wallen’s One Thing At A Time and Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet.
Carpenter also made waves with her song “Espresso,” which became the most-streamed track globally and in the U.S. Spotify Wrapped also introduced new features, such as “Your Music Evolution,” which highlights three distinct musical phases for each user, alongside the updated “Your Top Artist” feature, now including metrics like “Longest Listening Streak.”
With streaming now accounting for the majority of the music industry’s revenue, Spotify’s dominance continues, with 626 million users worldwide and a 31% market share.
