Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of South Africa, has introduced a new visa policy aimed at Nigerian investors and tourists, allowing them to apply for visas without the need to submit their passports.
This announcement was made during the opening of the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) in Cape Town, which was attended by President Bola Tinubu.
Ramaphosa emphasized that South Africa has streamlined its visa procedures to enhance travel for Nigerian business individuals and tourists, including the provision of five-year multiple entry visas.
He expressed that this initiative aims to foster a conducive environment for Nigerian business people, facilitating their travel to South Africa.
Furthermore, he reaffirmed South Africa’s dedication to eliminating barriers to investment and addressing the challenges faced by companies in both nations, highlighting the potential for deeper economic cooperation as they celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations.
Ramaphosa also recognized the Nigerian government’s efforts to create a more favorable business climate for investors and reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business in South Africa, encouraging more Nigerian companies to invest in the country.
