Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has issued a spiritual warning to Nigerians, emphasizing the reality of Satan’s influence in leadership. Speaking during a Zoom program titled “Boiling Point Arena”, hosted by a radio station in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Sunday night, Obasanjo remarked that Satan is not only real but also capable of enthroning leaders who fail to serve the people.
Obasanjo pointed out that such leaders, influenced by negative forces, are inevitably destined to fail in their duties. The former president further noted that while many leaders are divinely prepared and guided by God, some ascend to power under the influence of malevolent forces, leading to governance that does not benefit the citizens.
This candid statement underscores Obasanjo’s long-standing concerns about the quality of leadership in Nigeria and the spiritual dynamics he believes play a role in governance. By urging Nigerians to remain vigilant and discerning, he reiterated the importance of holding leaders accountable and ensuring they work for the common good.
The “Boiling Point Arena” event offered Obasanjo another platform to voice his perspectives on Nigeria’s challenges, further demonstrating his enduring influence and engagement with national issues.
