Says Selection a Good Development for Community
*COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED BY THE EMURE-ILE YOUTH COUNCIL AT THE END OF A CONSULTATIVE MEETING ON THE SELECTION OF HON. IBRAHIM HAMMED AS APC VICE CHAIRMAN CANDIDATE IN THE UPCOMING OWO LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION*
In light of the reliable report received this morning regarding the selection of Hon. Ibrahim Hammed, the immediate past councilor of Uso/Emure-ile Ward 11, as the Vice Chairman candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming Local Government Election in Owo, major youth stakeholders under the highest youth body in Emure-ile convened a meeting to discuss the community’s position on this development.
After thorough deliberations, the youth stakeholders resolved as follows:
1. Emure-ile deserves substantial recognition for its immeasurable contributions to political development in Owo Local Government Area, particularly under the APC, which has enjoyed the political support of our community since the creation of the party in 2014.
2. We appreciate and commend Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and other APC leaders for acknowledging the significant impact of our community on the party’s success over the years and for considering Hon. Ibrahim Hammed for the Vice Chairmanship position in Owo.
3. While our initial goal in the LG race may not have been Vice Chairmanship, we encourage Hon. Ibrahim Hammed to accept this position, and we urge the people of Emure-ile to fully support him.
4. We are confident that Hon. Ibrahim Hammed, as Vice Chairman of Owo Local Government, will represent our community well, especially given his outstanding performance as the immediate past Councilor of Uso/Emure-ile Ward 11. We also believe that this development will lead to more significant opportunities and vital political rewards for Emure-ile, which we rightfully deserve.
5. We will not condone or cooperate with any efforts from a few leaders in our community aimed at rejecting this opportunity.
6. We reiterate our unwavering support for Hon. Ibrahim Hammed and encourage him to disregard any pressure to decline the offer extended to him.
7. Finally, we remain committed to the Emure-ile project. As Rome was not built in a day, we view this recent development, particularly the appointment of Hon. Ibrahim Hammed, as a significant step forward in the gradual journey towards realizing the bigger picture for our community.
