The Osun State Executive Council has officially approved the appointment of Prince Jokotola Olayinka Tunde as the new Olujudo of Ido-Osun in the Egbedore Local Government Area. He succeeds the late Oba Aderemi Adedapo.
The Olojudo stool is governed by the 1956 Registered Declaration, which stipulates that the Adenko Ruling House is next in line for the position.
In a statement released on Friday, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, confirmed that the selection process adhered to all relevant laws and procedures.
The Council has urged the new monarch to work towards fostering peace and progress for both the town and the state. Governor Ademola Adeleke had previously emphasized the importance of continuing to deliver democratic benefits, stressing that the reward for hard work is even greater effort.
Governor Adeleke highlighted the positive public reception of the government’s actions and called on the administration to sustain and even accelerate its efforts, focusing on the state’s five-point agenda while keeping the momentum of progress intact.
