The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission, ODIEC says interested applicants can now apply to serve as ad-hoc staff in the Saturday January 18th, 2025 local government elections in the state.
The Electoral body, in public notice by the Secretary to the Commission, Mr Igbekele Jatuwase invites applications from qualified and suitable candidates for available ad-hoc staff vacancies for the purpose of the conduct of the local government elections.
According to the notice, available positions are Local Government Returning Officers, Ward Returning Officers, Ward Supervisory Returning Officers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers, Poll Clerk and Poll Assistant.
The statement notes that interested applicants for the positions of Local Government Returning Officers and Ward Returning Officers are to forward their written application with biodata to the Chairman, ODIEC at Commission’s Headquarters on Oba-Ile road, Akure not later than January 6th, 2025.
Other applicants for other categories are to channel their applications through the Electoral Officers in their respective local government areas to the ODIEC Chairman.
The Commission emphasized that the deadline for the submission of the application remains January 6th, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Commission has displayed the lists of candidates whose particulars have been verified on Friday, December 27th, 2024 in line with the guidelines of the conduct of the local government elections.
The lists which contained particulars of Chairmanship candidates were pasted at the ODIEC headquarters on Oba-Ile road Akure, while the councillorship candidates of participating political parties were also pasted at the local government offices of ODIEC for public notice and updates.
The Commission adds that all machineries are being put in place and preparations are in top gear to ensure smooth conduct of the local government elections next month.
